Sweet Mother I've Finally Done It!

December 31, 2003  ::  06:52 PM

I thought I should post one last pathetic entry for the year. Also, Andrea threatened to come from Senegal to pinch me if I didn’t update soon. Tonight my plans include stopping by my sister’s house to visit some old camp friends, then onward to Freeze-O-Ween. I am going sans costume this year because I already dressed up for Halloween, and New Years is a holiday reserved for attractice attire (like a new kelly green sweater from H&M only $29). I have a theory that ringing in 2003 as the cynical Margot Tenenbaum cursed the year for me. Last spring was delightful when I lived in the WRC, exercised my physical and political self regularly, had amazing classes, and basked in so much friendship in one little brick house. The rest of the year was pretty much shit though. It seems like the perfect time to expound on the details of shittiness, instead I will share my resolutions with you: I plan on being fiscally responsible and updating my weblog more. You, darling reader, can help me meet both goals. Send me grumbling e-mail when I don’t update enough, also send me checks (or Paypal payments) to help keep me financially safe. We can do it if we all work together.

Here are some exciting events that will happen in 2004:

My sister Amy will have a baby (another boy, make some name suggestions)
I will live in France for three months and travel Europe for close to one
I will stay with my sister Gig in L.A. for an undetermined amount of time this summer
At some point I will reunite with all of my friends who are abroad and I will squeeze them.

Also I feel as though this is the year that I will finally have a celebrity friend, Winona Ryder I’m looking in your direction.

I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!!!!!!!

Yea!!

Keep it up, girl!!

murmur,
your post was a PIVOT for me: I woke up having a bad day... mid-morning looked@yr blog, and from there on out had a great day. so I've returned to the source of my good day to tell you that YOU are responsible for my good day.
(it wasn't good in any specific way; it was just good in that it wasn't bad, like the first part of my day was)

hopelessly ambiguous

congratulations on making it (I'm hoping) to 2004.

I think the baby should have a normal first name, say Derwood, but then a regal middle name like "the Mighty" or "Deathblow".
