Each project can be sorted by due date or project status. The three status phases are design, prepress, and printing.

On the project page you can view all information, read the activity log, schedule a meeting, or e-mail the project team.

Every job phase is defined by a checklist of events. Completing all items in a phase moves the job to the next status level.

Updating the checklist is easy. All changes are associated with a user and posted in the activity log.

The calendar view shows meetings, press checks, and job closings for a particular day.

Each user’s page shows their contact info, jobs they’re working on, and a simple form to send them e-mail.
The Design Center is a small studio run as part of the Graphic Design program at Western Michigan University. I worked with them to create an extranet application for project management, customized to their workflow.
The system handles project history, team communication, scheduling of meetings, and deadline management. The progress of each project is represented by a checklist of events, developed by researching their existing process and refined through testing. Each user of the system has a customized page that shows the jobs they’re working on and a calendar view lists all events.
