Objective

I seek opportunities to make everyday experiences more enjoyable and humane, to practice human-centered design and create meaningful interactions between people, products, and services.

Selected Skills and Accomplishments

  • Worked with an interdisciplinary team to design a new product and business from technology research. Conducted human-centered research at a large medical center to design a tool that will help pathologists diagnose skin cancer.
  • Imagined future possibilities for mobile computing through extensive research into the needs of people who are new to a city or area. Designed a location-based information system leveraging near future technology platforms.
  • Investigated why and how products should evolve through use in a thesis essay on adaptive design.
  • Taught university courses and workshops in web and communication design.
  • Founded the Moped Army, America’s largest moped club. Built an online community to catalyze the growth of the organization to over 400 members in 18 local chapters. Led planning of eleven national events.
  • Created The Collective Unconsciousness Project, an online environment that finds connections between people’s dreams. The project was a Macromedia Site of the Day, published as a case study in the book Flash Interface Design on Macromedia Press, and exhibited internationally.
